Bundesliga team Union Berlin are pushing to sign Inter Milan Robin Gosens to reinforce for the Champions League next season.

This according to German news outlet Sport-de, via FCInterNews, who report that the German team are ready to pay a club record fee to meet Inter’s €20 million valuation for the former Atalanta man.

Union are looking for reinforcements ahead of their first ever season in the Champions League.

A surprise fourth place finish in the Bundesliga table has secured the club from the German capital a place in Europe’s top club competition.

Union know that they’ll need to add quality and depth to cope with the rigors of the competition.

And according to Sport-de, Inter wingback Gosens is one of their main targets to do so.

Union Berlin Pushing To Sign Inter Star Robin Gosens

Gosens has been linked with moves to the Bundesliga in the past couple transfer windows.

The former Atalanta has reportedly been targeted by all of Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Schalke were reportedly keen to loan the 28-year-old during the January transfer window as part of their bid to avoid relegiation.

Despite these rumours, Gosens has always stayed put at Inter.

However, renewed transfer interest in the German is already starting to emerge for this summer.

Despite having found more playing time at Inter in recent months, Gosens is still second-choice behind Federico Dimarco.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri could very well listen to offers for the player who joined from Atalanta last January.

Both Premier League side Bournemouth and Bundesliga team Wolfsburg are reportedly keen.

However, according to Sport-de, Union are the team with the advantage in the race for Gosens’s signature.

This is because the Berlin side are ready to spend big in anticipation of the Champions League. Inter want at least €20 million, but Union are ready to break their transfer record to bring Gosens in.
