In recent hours, Federico Pastorello has arrived at Inter Milan’s headquarters to discuss the future of his clients Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.

Following his arrival, the famous Italian agent had some reassuring words regarding the future of the Nerazzurri defensive duo.

“Let’s see, we are holding talks but they should both remain,” said Pastorello as reported by Sky Sport via FcInterNews.

As the source explains, de Vrij should sign a contract extension with the Nerazzurri on Friday. The new deal would see the Dutch defender pocket 3.8 million euros for the next two seasons.

The 31-year-old joined Inter in 2018 following a four-year stint at Lazio. He was a stalwart at the back during Antonio Conte’s reign, but has recently lost his starting berth due to some shaky displays at the back.

On the other hand, Acerbi spent his season on loan at Inter. Nevertheless, the 35-year-old established himself as a pillar in defense. Thus, the management will be looking to maintain his services on a permanent basis this summer.

The Italian international made 49 appearances across all competitions this term, contributing with a single goal and an assist.

But although de Vrij and Acerbi are expected to stay, Inter still need to bolster their defensive department following the departure of Milan Skriniar who will join Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent following the expiry of his contract.
