Following another underwhelming loan spell, Valentino Lazaro will return to Inter Milan as Torino have decided against maintaining his services, which could lead to another stint in the Bundesliga.

The 27-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in 2019 after making a name for himself during his time at Hertha Berlin.

But following a brief spell in Milano, the Austrian has embarked on recurring loan stints. Since 2020, he plied his trade at Newcastle United, Borussia Monchengladbach, Benfica and lastly Torino.

Nevertheless, the player hasn’t been able to convince any of his temporary employers to maintain his services on a permanent basis.

This season, he started his campaign on a positive note before sustaining an injury that kept him out of action between January and March. Eventually, he contributed with three assists in his 23 Serie A appearances for the Granata.

Therefore, TuttoMercatoWeb (via FcInterNews) claims that Torino will send Lazaro back to Inter, which could spark another stint in the Bundesliga.

Torino could have signed the wingback for six million euros, but opted against exercising their buy-option.

The Austrian international still has one year left on his Inter contract. The source believes that the two parties will be looking to find a solution in the summer which could well be a switch to Germany.

The report understands that Lazaro still has suitors in the Bundesliga, having previously represented Hertha Berlin and Gladbach.
