Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi is looking to reunite with his old Lazio pupil Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Following a successful stint in the Italian capital, the 47-year-old succeeded Antonio Conte at the helm of the Nerazzurri in 2021.

The tactician has already poached a couple of his old favorites (Joaquin Correa and Francesco Acerbi). Nevertheless, he remains keen on a reunion with the Serbian midfielder.

The 28-year-old has been plying his trade in the Eternal City since 2015, establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in Italian football.

While Lazio president Claudio Lotito had adopted a stubborn approach in the past, he will have to be more lenient this summer if he wants to avoid losing his prized asset for free next summer.

Therefore, Biasin claims that Inzaghi will try to pounce on the opportunity to lure Milinkovic-Savic to Inter.

Even though the club is also closing in on Sassuolo star Davide Frattesi, the journalist insists that the Inter manager prefers SMS over the Italian international.

“Inzaghi hasn’t raised his voice in the past, but until recently, he was the one he had to be thankful for being at Inter,” said Biasin during his appearance at Telelombardia via FcInter1908.

“Now he can afford to ask for a little more certainty. He wants a more serene atmosphere than last summer.

“In midfield he would like to have either Milinkovic-Savic or Frattesi, in that order.”

Regarding the manager’s contract renewal, Biasin believes that the two parties are yet to discuss this matter. Currently, the priority remains for the transfer market.

“They didn’t even talk about it, the topic of the day was the market guidelines. This is what the coach told me”
