Inter Milan don’t intend to splash 7 million euros to buy Raoul Bellanova. The 23-year-old spent this campaign in Milano on loan from Cagliari.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri consider the figure too high.

The young wingback signed for the Beneamata on loan from Cagliari last summer but had a slow start to life at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The former Girondins Bordeaux player hardly featured at the start of the season, but his playing time improved in the second half of the campaign.

Due to Milan Skriniar’s injury, Matteo Darmian played in the back three, so Bellanova became the first alternative for Denzel Dumfries on the right wing. In the end, the wingback picked up 22 appearances in all competitions.

But while Inter Milan deem the figure too high for the player, the source suggests that Raoul Bellanova could stay put at Appiano Gentile for next season.

The report believes that the two clubs will have further talks in July. While the Nerazzurri could request another loan, it remains unclear if the Sardinians would be willing to accept.

Under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri, Cagliari have secured promotion to Serie A following a dramatic victory over Bari in the Serie B playoff.

Therefore, Bellanova would have the chance to earn more playing time in Italy’s top flight if he ends up at Cagliari next season.

Nevertheless, the young man would be surely eager to prove himself at Inter, especially after displaying encouraging signs in the final stretch.
