Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko is very close to signing a new two-year contract with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that only the official announcement remains before the Bosnian signs his deal with Fenerbahce, as he is ready to leave the Nerazzurri on a free transfer after two years.

Dzeko’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of this month.

The Nerazzurri have offered the Bosnian international a new deal to stay another season. However, Inter’s offer is only for a one-season extension.

Reportedly Dzeko is not convinced by the Nerazzurri’s offer of a new one-year deal. He feels that the club no longer see him as a central part of the project.

The Bosnian has decided that he wants a move away from the Nerazzurri to join a club where he’s more central to the project.

According to Mediaset, Fenerbahce have offered the 37-year-old a two-year deal. The contract will see the former Roma and Manchester City star earn €4.5 million net per season plus add-ons.

Moreover, the broadcaster notes, Fenerbahce will pay Dzeko a €5 million sign-on bonus when he joins.

Only The Official Announcement Remains Before Inter Star Edin Dzeko Joins Fenerbahce

Dzeko’s agent Alessandro Lucci has already held meetings with Fenerbahce. The agent is working towards finishing up the final details on the contract that the striker will sign with the Istanbul club.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via his homepage, there is still another meeting to come.

Di Marzio reports that Lucci will hold talks with Fenerbahce this evening. He expects that there are still details that the parties need to wrap up.

However, in any event, the negotiations look to be very close to being done.

Now, it is only a matter of time before Dzeko says goodbye to Inter.

The Bosnian joined the Nerazzurri from Roma in the summer of 2021. He has made 101 appearances for the club across all competitions over the past two seasons.

Dzeko has scored a total of 31 goals in an Inter shirt.

The Bosnian, who captains his national team for whom he is the all-time leading top scorer and appearance-maker, started for Inter in the Champions League final against his former club Manchester City.
