Inter Milan, Lyon, and teams from the Saudi Pro League are all interested in signing Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti.

This according to Spanish news outlet Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is a target for both his old club Lyon and also for Inter, although teams from Saudi Arabia are also starting to emerge with an interest in his signature.

Umtiti looks to be on his way out at the Camp Nou this summer.

There is little question of Barcelona’s desire to offload the Frenchman once and for all. Umtiti isn’t in the plans for Blaugranas coach Xavi.

Last season, Barcelona shipped Umtiti out on loan to Lecce in Serie A.

The 2018 World Cup winner enjoyed a positive season with the Giallorossi in the Italian top flight. Whilst he experienced an injury problem here or there, fitness problems hardly derailed his season as they have in the past.

Umtiti helped Lecce stay in Serie A on their first season back in the first division.

However, the Frenchman’s loan with Lecce ends at the end of this month, and then he’s going back to Barcelona.

Inter, Lyon & Saudi Clubs Interested In Barcelona & France Star Umtiti

Barcelona will certainly want to get rid of Umtiti and his wages this summer.

To do so, they will have to find an agreement with a club on a permanent transfer. Umtiti is still under contract at the Camp Nou until the end of June 2026.

According to Sport, Barcelona want to find a new club for the 29-year-old before the end of this month.

The Spanish outlet name Inter as one of the teams interested in signing Umtiti. The Nerazzurri are in search of defensive reinforcements for next season, particularly to replace Paris Saint-Germain-bound Milan Skriniar.

Meanwhile, Sport report, Lyon are also keen. The Ligue 1 side are in fact the team who sold Umtiti to Barcelona in the summer of 2016.

However, an alternative possibility would be for Umtiti to leave European football altogether.

Sport report that there are already clubs from the Saudi Pro League showing an interest in the Frenchman’s signature.
