Inter Milan could be eyeing a move for Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero but could face stern competition from Lazio and Fiorentina.

The Nerazzurri might have to bolster their goalkeeping department this summer. The contract of Samir Handanovic will expire at the end of the month while André Onana could leave if the club were to receive an important offer from Man United.

Therefore, the club has identified the 26-year-old as a possible reinforcement. The Italian endured a calamitous campaign at the Luigi Ferraris, culminating in relegation to Serie B.

But thankfully for Audero, he still has several suitors in Serie A, including the likes of Inter, Lazio and Fiorentina, at least according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews.

But while the aforementioned clubs might only offer the Sampdoria man an understudy role, Empoli would hand him a starting berth. The Tuscans are looking to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper following the departure of Guglielmo Vicario to Tottenham Hotspur.

Moreover, La Repubblica claims that Lazio president Claudio Lotito has cooled down his interest in the goalkeeper as he isn’t willing to spend 7 or 8 million euros for his services.

Audero is a Juventus youth product who rose through the club’s ranks to become a senior team member. But due to the lack of playing time, he had to leave Turin in the summer of 2018.

Nevertheless, he proved to be a reliable shot-stopper during his time with the Ligurian club.
