Lorenzo Pirola has officially made the switch to Salernitana from Inter Milan after the Granata triggered a purchase option in his loan deal.

This is confirmed in an announcement on Salernitana’s official site. They also confirmed that they have signed Guillermo Ochoa and Boulaye Dia on permanent deals as well.

Pirola has spent the past season at Salernitana after signing a one-year loan deal with the Campanian club last summer.

The young defender had spent the previous two seasons on loan with Monza in Serie B after coming through the youth ranks at Inter.

Pirola had helped Monza reach promotion to Serie A. However, the Brianzoli declined to exercise a purchase option in his loan deal.

However, Salernitana  have not followed suit. Satisfied with the 21-year-old’s contributions particularly towards the back half of last season, they have made Pirola their player on a permanent basis.

He will no longer have any affiliation with Inter. Pirola will represent the Salernitana shirt on a full-time basis.
