Inter Milan are contemplating a switch for Roberto Pereyra who’s now a free agent after seeing out his contract with Udinese.

The 32-year-old is a vastly experienced veteran and a former Argentina player. He has 19 international caps to his name, scoring two goals in the process.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Pereyra could be the final piece in the Inter Milan midfield puzzle.

The Nerazzurri should complete the signing of Sassuolo star Davide Frattesi in the next few days. They have already reached an agreement in principle with Sassuolo over the transfer.

But despite the imminent arrival for the Italian international, Simone Inzaghi still needs an additional player in the middle of the park.

The club has parted ways with two midfielders this summer. Marcelo Brozovic joined Al-Nassr while Roberto Gagliardini left following the expiry of his contract.

Inter Milan Could Add In Roberto Pereyra To Their Midfield Host

Therefore, Inter need a sixth midfielder in addition to Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Kristjan Asllani and the incoming Frattesi.

The report believes that Pereyra could be the right profile for Inter thanks to his experience and versatility. He can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or even on the right flank.

The Argentine made his breakthrough at River Plate before joining Udinese in 2011. He played at Juventus between 2014 and 2016 and then had a four-year experience at Watford.

He rejoined Udinese in 2020, acting as a pillar at the Dacia Arena for the last couple of years.
