Alessandro Bastoni has signed a new contract with Inter Milan, committing his future to the club until the end of June 2028.

This is confirmed in an official statement made by Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri have made extending Bastoni‘s contract a priority.

The 24-year-old’s previous deal expired at the end of next June. However, the Nerazzurri have wanted to secure his future well before then.

It had even been reported that, if Bastoni hadn’t signed a new deal, he would be a target for Manchester City, PSG, and Juventus.

However, the Nerazzurri have made sure that there is no risk of losing the Italian international. They have locked him down on a new five-year deal.

The length of the contract is an indicator of how important Bastoni is to Inter’s project. The Italian international was a key man in the Nerazzurri’s run to the Champions League final last season.

Alessandro Bastoni A Key Man For Inter Milan

Over the past four season, Bastoni has proven himself to be a vital player for Inter.

In the 2019-20 season, the former Parma and Atalanta man already made himself a vital player under Antonio Conte. This despite going into the season aged just nineteen.

Bastoni started for Inter in the Europa League final against Sevilla that season.

Then, in his second campaign with the Nerazzurri, Bastoni helped the team to win the Serie A title under Conte.

Bastoni certainly hasn’t been any less important for Inter Simone Inzaghi than he had been under Conte.

The 24-year-old made the most appearances yet in a season for Inter last time around – 47 in all competitions.

Bastoni’s defensive abilities are part of the bedrock of Inzaghi’s Inter. So, however, is his quality with the ball and his feet and in the pass.

Inzaghi has given Bastoni license to get forward with driving runs and dangerous crosses into the box.

So far, Bastoni has made a total of 164 appearances in an Inter shirt. He has scored four goals in the process.
