Man Utd have reportedly raised their offer for Inter Milan’s André Onana to 45 million euros plus 5M as bonuses. However, this figure won’t be enough to sway the Nerazzurri.
The Red Devils have identified the Cameroonian goalkeeper as the ideal long-term replacement for David De Gea. The two clubs have been negotiating the transfer for several days.
But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Man Utd remain 5 million short of Inter Milan’s asking price for Onana.
As the source explains, the Italians would like to collect 50 million euros as a fixed fee in addition to bonuses. On the other hand, the Premier League giants have offered 45M plus 5M as add-ons.
Despite Raising The Offer, Man Utd Remain Short Of Inter Milan’s Asking Price For André Onana
The report adds that the 27-year-old is in constant contact with Man United boss Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman was the manager who helped in launching the goalkeeper’s career during their time together at Ajax.
Onana joined the Nerazzurri last summer after seeing out his contract with the Amsterdam-based giants. He swiftly established himself as a stalwart at the back, usurping aging club captain Samir Handanovic.
His heroics played a vital part in the club’s run towards the Champions League final last season.
On another note, the pink newspaper believes that Onana’s transfer to Old Trafford would provide Inter with the necessary funds to secure Romelu Lukaku’s services from Chelsea.
