Inter Milan have at least three good reasons to pursue the signing of Argentine midfielder Roberto Pereyra.

The 32-year-old saw out his contract with Udinese, becoming a free agent. While the Zebrette are still hoping to maintain the services of their pillar star, a switch to Appiano Gentile could be more tempting.

For their part, the Nerazzurri have several reasons to keep tabs on the veteran player, explains La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInter1908).

First of all, we’re talking about a consistent player whose ratings seldom drop below 6/10 on the scorecards of Italian media outlets.

The source likens the reliable veteran to the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian.

Consistency, Tactical Versatility and Affordable Wages Are Some Of The Reasons Why Inter Milan Are Interested In Roberto Pereyra

In addition to consistency, Pereyra is vastly versatile. In theory, he would complete Inter’s midfield ranks (alongside Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Asllani and new signing David Frattesi).

Nevertheless, the former Juventus star can also play as an attacking midfielder (or even second striker). Simone Inzaghi would also be able to deploy him as a backup for Denzel Dumfries on the right flank.

Finally, the 32-year-old would be a bargain from a financial standpoint. Besides being a free agent, his salary at Udinese was just one million euros per season.

As the source explains, this is even less than what benchwarmer Roberto Gagliardini collected in the past years.
