The Sporting Director of Wolfsburg has given a big hint about the Bundesliga club’s interest in Inter Milan wingback Robin Gosens.

Speaking to German news outlet Sportbuzzer.de, the executive admitted that left-back is a position of need for Wolfsburg, and did nothing to cool the rumours of their interest in signing Nerazzurri wingback Gosens.

Gosens looks to be a player who Inter would listen to offers for this summer.

The German has never quite hit the ground running following his move from Atalanta last January. Upon his arrival, Gosens was behind Ivan Perisic in the pecking order. Then, last season, Federico Dimarco inherited the first-choice role from Perisic rather than Gosens.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri would reportedly not be opposed to selling Gosens, for the right price.

The Bundesliga’s Union Berlin have reportedly been moving towards trying to sign the former Atalanta star.

Meanwhile, Premier League duo Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest are reportedly also thinking about a move.

However, in terms of a move back to his home country, Union aren’t the only candidates for Gosens’s signature.

There have also been several reports of Wolfsburg being keen. Despite not being able to offer the 28-year-old European football, they could still make their effort to beat Union to his signature.

Wolfsburg Sporting Director Hints At Robin Gosens Interest

Wolfsburg Sporting Director Schafer noted that “It’s no secret that we have only one player in the leftback position, Nicolas Cozza.”

“Of course we’re looking around,” he continued. “We hope to find a solution both in sporting terms and business-wise.”

“But then, I’m also convinced that we could fill the role with someone already in the squad.”

Meanwhile, German outlet Kicker, via FCInterNews, asked Wolfsburg captain Maximilian Arnold whether he’d like to have Gosens as a teammate at club level.

“Of course,” he replied. “He’s a player in the national team. I also met him at youth team level with the national team.”
