The sale of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr is in no danger of falling through despite potential transfer ban to the Saudi Pro League club.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that that transfer has been finalized even if the Saudi team may have problems registering the midfielder for competitive fixtures.

Earlier this month, Brozovic officially made the switch to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.

The 30-year-old Croatian international put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the club. They have unveiled him as a player for next season.

Meanwhile, Inter and Al-Nassr completed the transfer. The Nerazzurri will reportedly receive a fee of €17.5 million. This could rise to €20 million with the inclusion of €2.5 million in add-ons.

However, there appears to be a hitch in Brozovic’s move. Al-Nassr are set to face a transfer ban due to €460,000 in unpaid add-ons on a deal to sign Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa from Leicester City in 2018.

FIFA’s CAS (Court for Arbitration of Sport) has ruled that Al-Nassr cannot register new signings for official competitions due to the unpaid fees.

This means that they cannot register Brozovic for the upcoming Saudi Pro League campaign as thing stand.

Inter Milan Have Already Completed Marcelo Brozovic To Al-Nassr – No Risk From Transfer Ban

This has naturally led to some questions about whether the deal for Brozovic could fall through.

According to the Corriere, however, there would be absolutely no risk of that happening.

The deal between Inter and Al-Nassr has already been formally ratified. The clubs have signed all of the documents and Brozovic is an Al-Nassr player.

And, the Saudi club owe the Nerazzurri the fee that the deal stipulates, on the terms that it outlines.

That deal happened before the CAS imposed the transfer ban on Al-Nassr.

Brozovic is an Al-Nassr player, and Inter will receive the fee that they agreed with the Saudi club. The only issue is that as things stand, Al-Nassr cannot register the player for official competitions.

There is zero chance of the deal being undone and Brozovic returning to Inter, or of the Nerazzurri missing out on the transfer fee.
