Man United are close to completing the signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan in the next couple days.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 27-year-old should complete the switch tomorrow or Monday, as the clubs reach a complete agreement regarding the fee.

As of yet, nothing is official – Onana is still an Inter player.

However, the clock is now ticking. It should not be long at all before the Cameroonian formally makes the switch to Old Trafford.

The two clubs have been working in talks for the past few days to finalize their agreement.

Wdnesday saw a conference call between representatives of the two clubs to iron out a final agreement. That did not quite result in the decisive handshake.

But further talks look to have fully resolved the negotiations.

The Gazzetta report that United will offer Inter €52 million plus €5 million in add-ons. After the Nerazzurri have kept waiting for the Red Devils to inch up more and more in their bid, this is the magic number – they don’t need the offer to be any higher.

Now, all that is left is for the player to complete the move.

There are no further negotiations – Onana should travel to Manchester within the next couple of days.

The Cameroonian former Ajax star can then undergo his medicals, wrap up any outstanding formalities, and put pen to paper. He’ll be a Manchester United player sooner or later, and it now looks like sooner.

Meanwhile, on the player’s end, Onana’s representatives reportedly already met with United on Monday.

They have reached a full agreement on a five-year contract.

Onana will more than double the €3 million net per season that he’s earning at Inter.
