Inter Milan are working with an intermediary to finalize a contract to sign Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are fast at work getting a deal over the line to sign the 34-year-old, who is currently absent from Bayern’s preseason friendly against Rottach-Egern.
Inter don’t want to wait around much longer at all to complete a deal to sign Sommer.
The Nerazzurri have, for all intents and purposes, sold Andre Onana to Manchester United – the Cameroonian is arriving in Manchester today to complete his move.
Now, Inter’s next task is to sign a replacement for the Cameroonian.
There isn’t much time to do so before the team leave on their preseason tour of Japan. Therefore, the Nerazzurri are already much of the way towards making their first goalkeeping signing of the summer.
Inter Milan Working To Finalize Contract For Yann Sommer
The Nerazzurri have settled on Bayern keeper Sommer to be their first goalkeeping signing of the summer.
According to FCIN, Inter will not haggle on a fee for the Swiss international. They are prepared to pay the full €6 million in his release clause with Bayern.
However, the Nerazzurri have agreed with the Bavarians to pay the amount in two equal instalments.
And on the player’s end, as well, things are now moving towards the finish line.
FCIN report that an intermediary involved in the deal is now at Inter’s headquarters. There, the parties are involved in hammering out the final details of a contract for the 34-year-old former Borussia Monchengladbach man.
Moreover, FCIN note, Sommer was not involved in Bayern’s 27-0 friendly win over Rottach-Egern today.
The outlet report that this is related to the player’s future off the pitch. Sommer and Bayern know that his move to Inter is imminent, and so he did not play in today’s friendly.
Now, it really should not be long at all. Inter will complete the signing of Sommer in the next few days.
The medicals and contract signing should be soon. Then, once the experienced keeper puts pen to paper Inter can make the announcement.
Sommer will in all likelihood travel with Inter on their tour of Japan.
