Inter Milan are hoping to get a discount from Bayern Munich for the services of experienced goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

As we all know by now, André Onana is on the cusp of finalizing a transfer to Man United.

This leaves the Nerazzurri short of options in the goalkeeping department, especially following the departure of legendary Samir Handanovic.

Therefore, the Italian giants are determined to sign a new custodian as soon as possible. They have identified the Bayern Munich veteran as the right man for the job.

The Switzerland international joined the Bavarian club from Borussia Monchengladbach in January. He came in as a replacement for the injured Manuel Neuer.

But with the German on the verge of making his return to the pitch, Sommer could find himself on the bench.

Inter Milan Are Hoping To Receive A Discount From Bayern Munich In Their Attempts To Yann Sommer

Nevertheless, the Bundesliga champions don’t intend to part ways with the 34-year-old on the cheap.

According to Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio via FcInterNews, Inter Milan don’t wish to trigger Sommer’s release clause (worth 6 million euros).

Instead, the Nerazzurri are hoping to receive a discount on the figure mentioned above.

However, Inter are desperate to sign a new custodian as soon as possible. So if Bayern insist on collecting the full release clause, the Italians could succumb to the pressure as panic creeps in.

As Di Marzio explains, the two clubs continue to negotiate but at a rather slow pace. Therefore, they won’t reach a final accord today.
