Inter Milan are reportedly offering the services of Giovanni Fabbian in exchange for Napoli transfer target Lazar Samardzic.

The latter is a 21-year-old Serbian international who rose to prominence last season with a fabulous campaign at Udinese.

He scored five goals and provided four assists in 37 Serie A appearances. The youngster can play either as a box-to-box midfielder or an attacking midfielder.

But according to Corriere della Sera via FcInterNews, Inter aren’t alone in the race for the former Red Bull Leipzig starlet. As the source explains, Napoli are also interested in the player’s services.

However, the Nerazzurri will be looking to put themselves in the lead with a tempting offer.

The report claims Inter will add Giovanni Fabbian to the package, using the youngster as a bargaining chip to secure the signing of Samardzic. This would allow the Beneamata to lower the asking price.

For his part, Fabbian is a promising young midfielder who joined Inter in 2018 after rising through the ranks at Padova.

After climbing through the club’s age sections, he got the chance to showcase his talent in Serie B while representing Reggina on loan. The 20-year-old also plays for Italy U21 and U20.

But as the source explains, the main priority for Inter at the moment remains to revamp the goalkeeping department.

The Nerazzurri are on the verge of selling André Onana to Man United. They will then replace the Cameroonian with Bayern Munich veteran Yann Sommer.
