Inter Milan have reportedly identified Folarin Balogun and Alvaro Morata as the primary targets for the vacancy upfront.

The Nerazzurri are seeking an alternative to Romelu Lukaku after cutting all ties with the Belgian who was simultaneously negotiating a transfer to Juventus.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInter1908, the club is monitoring five different profiles. However, the preferred two candidates remain Balogun and Morata.

Balogun is a 22-year-old striker who’s on Arsenal’s books. Last season, he played for Stade Reims on loan and delivered impressive displays.

The Gunners are apparently open to a sale as the USMNT would struggle to carve himself a place in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

On the other hand, Morata represents a far more experienced profile. He has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Inter Milan Consider Folarin Balogun And Alvaro Morata As The Best Candidates For The Striker Role

The 30-year-old has a contract with Atletico Madrid for another year. But the Spanish capital side would be happy to sell him for the right price.

But while Balogun and Morata are the favorites, the shortlist still includes three other names.

As the source explains, Udinese striker Beto and Porto star Mehdi Taremi remain in the fray as fallback options.

Finally, Italian international striker Gianluca Scamacca could emerge as yet another option.

The Nerazzurri would consider a move for the 24-year-old if West Ham United are willing to let him leave on loan this summer. The former Sassuolo man is also a backup option for Roma.
