Bayern Munich will only let Inter Milan transfer target Yann Sommer leave once Manuel Neuer proves his full fitness in official matches.

This is according to famous German newspaper The Bild (via FcInterNews) which is now reporting an undesirable scenario for the Nerazzurri.

The Italian giants have parted ways with their two main goalkeepers recently. Legendary captain Samir Handanovic left the club as a free agent while Andre Onana has completed a transfer to Man United.

This leaves Inter coach Simone Inzaghi short of options between the posts. Thus, the management is looking to sign replacements as soon as possible.

The Beneamata have identified Sommer as the best candidate for the role. The 34-year-old is experienced, reliable and affordable.

However, the Bavarians have decided to put the deal on hold after failing to secure the services of Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The arrival of the North Macedonian would have unlocked Sommer’s transfer to Inter Milan.

But with Mamardashvili out of the equation, Bayern will insist on maintaining Sommer until Neuer proves his full fitness.

The legendary German is working on his return following a lengthy injury suffered last winter.

As the source explains, Bayern would like to test Neuer in three official matches. This will allow them to monitor his physical condition.

So until the 2014 World Cup winner proves his fitness, Sommer would remain at the Allianz Arena as a reliable backup.

Therefore, this could be a blow for Inter’s hopes of signing the Switzerland international. This is because the transfer window could be close by the time Neuer proves his fitness.
