Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi didn’t suffer a fresh injury setback despite leaving the pitch early in the club’s latest pre-season friendly.

The Nerazzurri hosted Serie C side Pergolettese at their training ground in Appiano Gentile. They viciously dismantled their foes, ending the match 10-0.

This was the club’s second pre-season test of the summer. The first ended in a 3-0 win over Lugano.

However, there were some concerns regarding the condition of returning midfielder Stefano Sensi.

The 27-year-old is one of the most talented players in Serie A but his recurring physical problems have thus far derailed his career progress.

The former Palermo and Sassuolo star left the pitch in the 37th minute during the cooling break.

He left his place on the pitch for young Nerazzurri starlet Giovanni Fabian, prompting concern over his physical condition.

But according to FcInterNews, Sensi didn’t suffer any injuries. In fact, Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi had already planned to make this substitution before the kickoff.

As the source explains, the midfielder had played for the majority of the match against Lugano. Therefore, the manager didn’t want to further exhaust him with another lengthy cameo.

Sensi should now join the rest of his teammates for the next part of the pre-season. The Nerazzurri will now embark on a Japanese tour where they’ll take on Al-Nassr (July 27) and Paris Saint-Germain (August 1).

The Italian midfielder joined Inter in the summer of 2019. His current contract with the club runs until 2024.

Sensi rejoined Inter after spending the previous campaign on loan at Monza. We shall see if he’ll remain at Appiano Gentile by the end of the transfer session.
