Goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin is keen on moving to Inter Milan, but talks with Shakhtar Donetsk on the transfer are at a standstill over the fee.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908, who report that the situation surrounding the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of the 21-year-old Ukrainian international has not changed a great deal.

Trubin remains a significant target for Inter in attack.

The Nerazzurri see the 21-year-old as an ideal candidate to grow into the first-choice role in the seasons to come. Whilst they are targeting Yann Sommer as a short-term option, Inter believe that Trubin can hold down the fort in goal for well over a decade into the future.

Therefore, signing Trubin remains one of Inter’s major goals for the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

But the same obstacle that they have been struggling with for weeks now remains – distance from Shakhtar regarding a fee.

Inter Milan & Shakhtar Donetsk Still Miles Apart On Trubin Fee

Trubin wants to join Inter this summer.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that the player’s will can be a bit of leverage in talks with Shakhtar.

Moreover, the fact that Trubin’s contract with the Ukrainians runs out at the end of next June has always been a key part of Inter’s strategy. They have been expecting Shakhtar to open up to a lower fee to avoid losing the player on a free transfer next summer.

But so far, Shakhtar have barely budged.

The Ukrainian giants want a fee of about €30 million if they’re going to let their promising young keeper go.

And Inter have not shown any great inclination to go beyond €10-12 million in their offer.

So for the time being, talks are at a standstill.

If Inter start going up in their offer, or if Shakhtar become nervous as deadline day looms and accept a lower bid, then the clubs could work out an agreement. But for the time being, they look to be miles apart.
