Inter Milan will pocket around €150,000 from the transfer of striker Mauro Icardi from PSG to Galatasaray.
This according to Italian news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that the same fee will also go to Sampdoria, with both Serie A teams earning solidarity payments for their part in the Argentine striker’s development.
It’s official – Icardi will be a Galatasaray player on a permanent basis.
The Argentine striker has joined the Istanbul-based giants on a permanent deal after spending last season on loan.
Galatasaray have decided to sign Icardi after he was their top scorer on the way to a Turkish Super Lig title.
The 30-year-old joins after having previously spent four seasons as a Paris Saint-Germain player. The Parisians signed Icardi from Inter in the summer of 2019.
That was initially on loan, but then they signed him on a permanent deal in the summer of 2020.
Icardi spent two seasons playing in the French capital after that. And then last season, the Argentine made the switch to Galatasaray on loan.
Inter Milan Earn €150,000 From Mauro Icardi Transfer To Galatasaray
The Turkish champions will pay PSG a fee off €10 million to secure Icardi’s signature on a permanent basis. They have signed the striker on a three-year deal.
Some of that fee will go to Icardi’s previous clubs as solidarity payments.
Icardi had made 2019 appearances for the Nerazzurri between 2013 and 2019. However, his full six seasons are now eligible for FIFA solidarity payments – only those before he turned 23.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri will receive €150,000 from the transfer. The same amount will go to Sampdoria, who Inter bought Icardi from, for their two seasons with the Argentine in their ranks.
Moreover, Barcelona will receive €125,000, on the basis of Icardi having been in their youth ranks.
Finally, €75,000 will go to Argentine side Vecindario.
