Marcus Thuram feels that his new coach Simone Inzaghi is a big fan of having him at Inter Milan.

Speaking to InterTV, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman gave his thoughts on his first few weeks as a Nerazzurri player, including his relationship with his coach Inzaghi.

Thuram arrived at Inter earlier this summer.

The 25-year-old’s arrival was the conclusion of a pursuit that lasted nearly two years.

The Nerazzurri had first shown a real interest in signing Thuram during the summer of 2021. That was the summer that they were trying to replace Romelu Lukaku following his sale to Chelsea.

It was also the summer that Inzaghi arrived from Lazio.

The coach replaced Antonio Conte at the helm, and immediately had to kickstart the project with some new signings.

In some ways, Inzaghi and Inter find themselves in a similar position this summer to the one in which Inzaghi arrived. Like that summer, some key players have headed for the exit door.

And also like that summer, the club have made some big moves in the transfer market to refresh the squad.

Inzaghi had already thought that he would have Thuram at his disposal a couple seasons ago. An injury to the player meant that that transfer fell through, however.

This summer, though, Thuram and Inzaghi will finally be working together.

Marcus Thuram: Simone Inzaghi Happy To Have Me At Inter

“The first time I spoke to my coach Inzaghi, he told me he was very happy to have me with him at Inter after two years, and that we have to work hard and achieve something positive season,” Thuram said of his meeting his new coach.

He continued that “I get along well with my new teammates. They’ve all been nothing but nice to me.”

“Everyone here works really hard,” Thuram added. “I’m really happy to be here.”

Thuram admitted that “Serie A has always been fascinating to me because my dad played here.”

“It’s great to come here with a big team like Inter. I can’t wait to play at the San Siro.”

Of what fans can expect from a striker partnership of he and Lautaro Martinez, the Frenchman said that “We hope to rack up a lot of goals, assists, and wins.”
