Inter Milan are considering a swoop for free agent Daichi Kamada. So how would the Japanese fit in Simone Inzaghi’s tactical jigsaw?

The 26-year-old spent six years at Eintracht Frankfurt, winning the Europa League in the 2021/22 season.

His contract with the German club expired at the end of last month. He has now become one of the most interesting profiles on the free market.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, AC Milan have declined the opportunity to sign Kamada, indirectly passing the opportunity to Inter.

However, the Japan international mainly operates as an attacking midfielder, a position that doesn’t exist in Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation.

Daichi Kamada Would Serve As Part Of Simone Inzaghi’s Midfield Trio If He Were To Join Inter Milan

But as the report explains, Kamada could follow in the footsteps of Henrikh Mkhitaryan by adjusting himself into a Mezzala role, leaning to the left side of the midfield trio.

The Armenian settled in this position last season after making the switch from Roma a year ago. He cemented himself as an important figure in the middle of the park.

Next season, Davide Frattesi will also be contending for the same spot. With Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu establishing themselves as automatic starters, the left midfield role remains up for grabs.

However, the source insists that revamping the goalkeeping department remains the first order of business on the club’s agenda. So we shouldn’t expect a move for Kamada at this stage of the summer transfer session.

Moreover, Udinese youngster Lazar Samardzic remains the favorite candidate for the role in Inter Milan’s book.
