Despite starting in goal for Bayern Munich yesterday, Yann Sommer remains adamant on completing a transfer to Inter Milan.

After selling André Onana to Man United and greeting legendary captain Samir Handanovic, the Nerazzurri are now desperate to sign a new goalkeeper.

The Italians have already reached an agreement in principle with Sommer. However, Bayern are refusing to let him leave before securing the services of a proper replacement.

The 34-year-old joined the Bavarian giants in January to plug the gap left by Manuel Neuer’s lengthy injury.

With the German international yet to complete a full recovery, the Bundesliga champions wouldn’t want to let the Swiss leave.

Yet, Sommer remains determined to join Inter. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the custodian is still pushing for a transfer.

Bayern Munich Goalkeeper Yann Sommer Is Still Eager To Join Inter Milan This Summer

The Switzerland international was a starter for Bayern in the friendly against Man City in Japan. He played for 45 minutes before leaving his spot on the pitch for backup goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. Nevertheless, this remains insufficient to change Sommer’s mind.

For their part, Inter remain confident in their ability to put the deal over the line. The report reveals that the two clubs held further talks yesterday.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri will be hoping that the Germans find themselves a new goalkeeper as soon as possible. This would greatly facilitate Sommer’s passage towards Appiano Gentile.
