Inter Milan are reportedly the favorites to sign Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun. The Nerazzurri are leading the race ahead of their crosstown rivals AC Milan.

The 22-year-old is a youth product of the Gunners. Last season, he enjoyed a splendid loan stint at Stade Reims.

But despite his exploits in France, the young American is still struggling to carve himself a place in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

According to The Independent, Arsenal are looking to raise almost 70 million pounds from the sales of players deemed surplus to requirements. This includes Balogun and Kieran Tierney.

The source believes that Inter and their arch-rivals AC Milan are the two main favorites in the race for Balogun. They remain ahead of Monaco and Red Bull Leipzig.

Moreover, the English report gives the edge to the Nerazzurri over the Rossoneri.

The Beneamata are currently searching the market for a new striker after cutting all ties to Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian was supposed to complete a permanent return to the Giuseppe Meazza after spending the previous campaign on loan from Chelsea.

Nevertheless, Inter decided to end the negotiations with the 30-year-old who was simultaneously flirting with Juventus while refusing to answer the Nerazzurri’s calls.

But while the Independent identifies Inter as the favorites to land Balogun, other reports from Italy point towards Alvaro Morata as Simone Inzaghi’s preferred candidate.
