Inter Milan still view building a stadium in the San Siro area as Plan A despite the fact that they’re also exploring alternatives.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The last couple days have seen important developments in Inter’s stadium situation.

The Nerazzuri have received the rights to conduct a feasibility study around building in the Rozzano area.

This is a concrete step towards a decisive break from previous plans to build a new stadium in place of the San Siro.

For years, Inter and city rivals AC Milan have been trying to tear down the existing stadium and build a new one in its place.

However, bureaucratic obstacles have mounted and cast enormous doubt on that project.

The Rossoneri have reportedly already all but abandoned the idea. They have lost patience and fully reoriented themselves to alternate plans, namely building a new stadium on their own in a different area.

And now Inter are starting to follow suit. The approval to begin a feasibility study in Rozzano is certainly a big move in that direction.

But, the Corriere suggests, it would be too early to say that the Nerazzurri have entirely broken with plans in the San Siro area.

Inter Milan Still See San Siro As Plan A Despite Rozzano Development

According to the Corriere, Inter have not given up on the San Siro area.

The Nerazzurri have certainly acknowledged in a concrete way that there are no guarantees.

The steps taken to ensure that there is real progress in other directions have shown that Inter believe that the San Siro idea is too uncertain of a basket in which to put all their eggs.

But, at the same time, the Corriere reports, the Nerazzuri are still holding out hope.

Inter are going to wait and see.

If the San Siro plans are truly dead in the water, then the club will be prepared. They are also solidifying contingency plans.

But if the San Siro area were to prove to be feasible, the Nerazzurri would consider that their first choice.
