Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez feels that he’s already starting to show signs of good linkup play with his new teammate Marcus Thuram.

Speaking to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 friendly win over PSG, via FCInterNews, the Argentine also reacted to that match.

Next season, things will look a lot different in Inter’s attack.

One player who will stay the same is Martinez.

The 25-year-old had been a real reference point leading the line for the Nerazzurri through all of last season. That’s been the case for some time now, and more and more the case with each passing season.

But things will look different in the other position.

Inter’s transfer window is still far from over, and they’ll make one or two attacking signings still.

But one player who’s already come in is Thuram.

After having formed partnerships with the likes of Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku over the past few seasons, now Martinez will have to find a rhythm with the Frenchman in attack.

And for his part, the 25-year-old believes that that’s already starting to happen.

Lautaro Martinez Believes He’s Building Chemistry With Marcus Thuram

“We’ve still only known each other for a short while,” Martinez said of his new teammate Thuram. “He arrived at the training camp late because he had been with his national team.”

“We’re trying to build an understanding with one another,” he added of the pair’s burgeoning relationship.

“So this kind of working daily is important, we’re training together twice a day.”

And of the friendly win over PSG, the Argentine said that “When you play against teams at this level, who’re really great in possession, it’s hard to get a hold of the ball.”

“We struggled up to the fifteenth minute. But then we got organized and came to grips with the match.”

“That’s important because it means that we’re able to help each other on the pitch,” Martinez added.

“We started the second half well, but then we went behind after I lost the ball. But then we did well to get back into it.”
