Alexis Sanchez is reportedly eying a return to Inter Milan which could become possible if Joaquin Correa were to leave.

The Chilean spent three campaigns with the Nerazzurri. He first joined the club in 2019 on loan from Man United. He then completed a permanent switch a year later.

The 34-year-old signed for Olympique Marseille as a free agent last summer. But his stint in Southern France has come to an end after a solitary campaign.

The former Udinese, Arsenal and Barcelona star is once again unattached and would relish the chance to return to Inter Milan.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the striker’s return to Inter could become a concrete possibility in the event of Correa’s departure.

The Argentine joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2021, accompanying his Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi.

However, the 28-year-old has thus far failed to establish himself as a pillar at the club. He’s been serving as a mere backup for his compatriot Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Milan And Alexis Sanchez Could Be Working On A Reunion – But The Return Depends On The Exit Of Joaquin Correa

But as the source explains, Correa still doesn’t have any genuine suitors. Therefore, his exit remains theoretical at this stage.

For his part, Sanchez might be eager to rejoin the Nerazzurri, but can’t afford to wait for too long.

So unless we witness some concrete developments on Correa’s front, Sanchez will entertain other proposals.
