Inter Milan have firmly turned their attention to Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun following the abrupt end to their pursuit of West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who also report that the Nerazzurri are not very likely to sign Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

In the last week or so, Inter had seemingly turned their attention to Scamacca in their search for a striker.

However, the Nerazzuri will miss out on the signing of the 24-year-old West Ham United forward.

Atalanta are now on the verge of completing a deal for Scamacca for around €30 million.

This leaves Inter back to square one in a certain sense. However, it is not as though the Nerazzurri do not already have targets in mind to fill the position.

Another player who Inter have been looking at for a few weeks now is Arsenal striker Balogun.

The Nerazzurri had yet to really accelerate in their pursuit of the American. The focus on Scamacca in recent days saw them temporarily cool their interest.

It is not, however, as though Balogun ever really fell of Inter’s radar.

The Nerazzurri’s directors have always considered the US international a major target in attack. They are fully convinced by what they’ve seen from his performances with Reims last season.

A lot will depend on whether or not Arsenal will accept a fee that’s within Inter’s price range.

The Nerazzurri would be capable of offering right around €40 million. If the Gunners are willing to accept such a bid, then a deal looks very likely.

On the other hand, a move for Atletico striker Morata isn’t likely on the cards.

If the Colchoneros were to drop their asking price for the 30-year-old there would be a chance. But the Gazzetta describe it as nothing more than a “remote” one.

On the other hand, the Gazzetta reports, Inter are in contact with Udinese for Beto if they can’t sign Balogun.
