Current PAOK and former Napoli, Torino, and Brescia winger Omar El Kaddouri feels that Achraf Hakimi should return to Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the 32-year-old former Moroccan international gave his thoughts on his compatriot’s situation.

Hakimi was one of the most high-profile departures from Inter over the past few seasons.

The Moroccan international, who has also played for Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, played a key role in the Nerazzurri winning the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season.

Hakimi may have stayed at Inter for just one season.

However, he made his impact felt.

Sporadic reports have linked Hakimi with an improbable return to Inter in recent months.

These reports have centred on the desire of the player concerned. On a financial level, it would be hard to see the move happening.

In the view of El Kaddouri, however, it is still worth advising Hakimi that he should try to return to the Nerazzurri.

El Kaddouri: Achraf Hakimi Should Go Back To Inter Milan

Of Hakimi’s situation, El Kaddouri said that “I’d advise him to go back there, yeah.”

“That’s where he reached the highest level in his career,” the former Partenopei man continued. “The best version of Hakimi we’ve seen was in Milan.”

“In my view, he arrived in Paris when they were a club with a lot of problems they’ve had to solve.”

El  Kaddouri then continued that “Hakimi is one of the best fullbacks in the world. In my opinion, if there’s an opportunity to sign him, you have to take it.”

“Given that he’s linked to Inter, in my opinion it could be an opportunity for the Nerazzurri to think about his return, but he’d also cost a lot.”

“But if we’re just limiting the discussion to the technical side of things, he’s one of the best players in his position and would give Inter a lot,” El Kaddouri added.
