Former Nerazurri, Juventus, and Lazio midfielder Hernanes feels that losing both Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko this summer will hurt Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FirenzeViola.it, the Brazilian gave the view that losing two top strikers in a single transfer window could present a major issue for the Nerazzurri.

Inter have had an eventful summer window both in terms of arrivals and departures.

A lot of activity has centred around the front end of the Nerazzurri’s squad.

Edin Dzeko has decided to leave to join Fenerbahce on a free transfer rather than accepting a contract extension offer.

Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku will not be coming back after a sensational summer soap opera involving Juventus.

On the one hand, Marcus Thuram has already arrived to replace at least one of the pair. There is plenty of excitement surrounding the Frenchman’s signing.

Moreover, Inter will almost certainly sign one more attacker before the summer transfer window closes.

Hernanes: Losing Both Lukaku & Dzeko Hurts Inter Milan

The fact remains, however, that Inter will have to hope that some new signings quickly gel with the team and hit the ground running.

In the form of Lukaku and Dzeko, the Nerazzurri had had two strikers who were proven commodities.

The pair had each shown their quality across several seasons at Inter and in Serie A.

Now, only Lautaro Martinez remains in terms of proven goalscorers. The Nerazzurri’s new captain has exceeded twenty goals in Serie A in each of the past two seasons. Moreover, there is no question of his willingness to physically battle with Serie A defenders.

Beyond the Argentine, Inter are relying on some untested players figuring out the right balance in attack.

Hernanes feels that this could hurt them.

“Inter have lost both Romelu Lukku and Edin Dzeko,” the former midfielder said. “That will hurt them.”

“They’re two top strikers,” he said of the pair.
