Inter Milan have inquired about signing striker Beto during talks with Udinese for midfielder Lazar Samardzic

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri have gotten a valuation of €35 million for the 25-year-old.

Inter are looking around for a new striker target after their move for West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca fell through.

With Atalanta set to win the race for the 24-year-old Italian international, the Nerazzurri are considering their options.

One player who has a fairly similar profile to Scamacca stylistically speaking is Udinese striker Beto.

Like the Italian, the Portuguese is a tall, physically strong centre-forward who’s capable of acting a reference point for his team in the final third.

This is important because Inter coach Simone Inzaghi reportedly wants to sign an out-and-out Number Nine rather than just a player who scores goals.

Inter Ask About Beto During Samardzic Talks – Udinese Want €35M

Inter and Udinese have already been locked in discussions regarding a transfer of midfielder Lazar Samardzic. Giovanni Fabbian is headed in the other direction.

Samardzic should arrive at Inter within the next day or two. But the Nerazzurri may not be finished signing players from the Gewiss Arena.

According to FCIN1908, Beto is also a major target for the Nerazzurri. He would be something of a backup target to Folarin Balogun.

However, Udinese have told them that their first-choice centre-forward isn’t going to come cheap. The lowest offer they would listen to would be €35 million, according to FCIN1908.

Reports suggest that Inter were willing to put around €40 million to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Therefore, it is possible that this would be in the ballpark of what Inter are ready to spend on a striker anyway.

However, whether or not the Nerazzurri would invest this much money in a second- or third-choice target is less clear.
