Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Liverpool and PSG linked OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that whilst there is zero chance that the Nerazzurri would sign the 22-year-old this summer, connections with his father and brother could make a future deal possible.

This summer, Inter have already signed one member of the Thuram family.

Former Borussia Monchengladbach and Guingamp striker Marcus Thuram chose to join the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.

During the process of the Frenchman’s decision to join Inter, there was plenty of involvement from his father, legendary former Parma, Juventus, and Barcelona defender Lilian Thuram.

Whilst the 1998 World Cup winner hardly forced his son in any one direction, he did give advice. Naturally, Lillian had input from jhis extensive experience playing in the Italian top flight.

Lillian spoke with Inter’s directors throughout the process.

And according to the Gazzetta, Marcus was not the only player to have come up in the discussions. Inter and Lillian also discussed the possibility of an eventual move for another of the Frenchman’s sons, Nice midfielder Khephren.

Inter Milan Keeping Tabs On Khephren Thuram After Signing Marcus Thuram

Khephren is a player who’s been on the radar of both Inter and Juventus for some time.

The Frenchman, who received his first senior cap this year, would have plenty to offer Inter’s midfield.

Standing 6’4″, Thuram is a physically strong defensive midfielder who is also very elegant on the ball and possessing an excellent passing range.

The 22-year-old’s ability to carry the ball through midfield would certainly add a new dimension to Inter’s midfield in seasons to come.

Of course, Inter are already on the verge of completing their midfield. Lazar Samardzic is the player they’ve chosen to bring in to give the squad depth and an eye to the future.

But that does not mean that the Nerazzurri aren’t also already planning for the future.

Thuram would not be an easy target to nab. For one thing, European giants Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also hoping to land the 22-year-old.

Inter can hardly compete with such rivals on a financial level.

Moreover, in view of all this interest, Nice reportedly want around €50 million for their midfield gem.

But Inter do have a card to play. Lillian Thuram has already played a role in persuading one of his sons to join Inter.

And Inter have given both father and son a good reception as part of the process of Marcus signing.

With Khephren’s name also having come up in the discussions, Lillian could well recommend the Nerazzurri as a destination to his younger son should a move to Serie A to follow in his footsteps be on the cards.

With Khephren’s current contract with Nice running out at the end of June 2025, he may be one to watch out for from an Inter perspective.
