Inter Milan still consider Atalanta veteran Duvan Zapata as one of their options for the striker role.

The Nerazzurri are still in the hunt for a new bomber. But this is proving to be an increasingly frustrating task for the management and fans alike.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Zapata remains among the list of profiles considered for the role.

The Beneamata had already tried to sign the Colombian back in 2021 after selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea. They eventually ended up poaching Edin Dzeko.

But in the last two seasons, the 32-year-old’s levels have dropped while his goals have dried up.

The former Napoli, Udinese and Sampdoria striker has been dealing with consistent injury problems which have derailed his momentum.

Zapata is no longer a first choice for Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta. The source mentions Monza as another possible destination for the striker.

The report believes that Inter Milan could take the opportunity to discuss Zapata with Atalanta while negotiating possible transfers of other Orobici players, like Merih Demiral and Rafael Toloi.

However, the source insists that the Colombian isn’t the first choice for Inter. The club continues to track Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun, Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Porto’s Mehdi Taremi.

On another note, the source claims that Alexis Sanchez would only return to Inter if the club manages to offload Joaquin Correa.

The Chilean veteran left the Nerazzurri last summer to join Olympique Marseille on a free transfer.

But the 34-year-old’s experience in France only lasted for a single campaign. So now he finds himself unattached and is apparently eager to rejoin Simone Inzaghi’s ranks.

However, this would be be possible if Correa ends up leaving Appiano Gentile before the end of the summer transfer session.
