West Ham United and Monaco have reportedly entered the fray for Inter Milan transfer target Folarin Balogun.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign on loan at Reims last season, scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1.

This summer, the USMNT star returned to Arsenal but found himself outside Mikel Arteta’s technical project.

Therefore, the Gunners are looking to sell the young striker. However, their price tag remains significantly high.

According to The Independent, Arsenal are looking to collect 40 million pounds from Balogun’s sale.

The source claims that West Ham and Monaco have entered the race for the American star.

The report describes them as the two main competitors for Balogun’s signature, as they’re the only suitors who can afford Arsenal’s asking price.

On the other hand, the source admits that the player still prefers to make the move to one of the two Milanese giants, with Inter looking like the more likely destination.

However, the Nerazzurri’s inability to meet the player’s valuation will reportedly sabotage the whole operation.

Therefore, Balogun could opt to remain in the English capital by moving to West Ham.

The Hammers have recently sold Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta. The Italian was also a renowned transfer target of Inter.

On the other hand, Balogun could choose a transfer to the French principality of Monaco and try to replicate his Ligue 1 exploits from last season.
