Inter Milan-linked striker Mehdi Taremi is increasingly hoping to leave Porto this summer as interest in his signature grows.

This according to today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, via FCInterNews, who report that the 31-year-old Iranian international is not going to force a move away but is hopeful of a transfer before the transfer window closes.

This summer, Taremi’s name has been one that’s come up in the transfer market.

The Iranian’s has developed a strong reputation over the last three seasons in the Portuguese top flight.

Therefore, there is little surprise in seeing some bigger clubs around Europe eyeing Taremi up.

Inter look to be foremost among them. The Nerazzurri have been considering a number of possible summer signings in recent weeks, and Taremi’s name has never really left their radar.

Inter have reportedly already opened talks with Porto about the possibility of signing the 31-year-old. To date, the Portuguese giants have rebuffed their interest and made clear that they intend to stick to a fairly high asking price.

According to O Jogo, Taremi is not going to force Porto’s hand this summer. If he is to stay at the Estadio do Dragao for the season, it would not be the end of the world for him.

However, aged 31 and considering his next step, the Iranian feels that he’s earned a move to a bigger club.

Therefore, O Jogo report, Taremi has been keeping an eye on the transfer interest that’s emerged around him. Particularly from Inter.

The newspaper suggest that there have been one or two hints of the striker’s discontent.

Taremi’s performance in the Portuguese Super Cup was not quite up to his usual standards. There was a sense that his partly had to do with the player’s focus being elsewhere amid uncertainty about his future.

In any event, O Jogo emphasize, Taremi would like a transfer to a bigger club.
