Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to resume contact with Monza for star left-back Carlos Augusto.

The 24-year-old has been a transfer target for the Nerazzurri since the star of the summer.

The Italo-Brazilian earned plaudits for his enchanting performances in his debut Serie A campaign. He proved to be a menacing force on the left wing.

However, Simone Inzaghi’s squad already includes two left wingbacks in the shape of Federico Dimarco and Robin Gosens, leaving no room for a newcomer.

But as we reported earlier, Champions League new boys Union Berlin have reignited their interest in Gosens.

So if the Bundesliga club seals a deal for the 29-year-old, it would open up a spot for Augusto at Appiano Gentile.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan are preparing to resume talks with Monza for the 24-year-old Italo-Brazilian, as Gosens’ departure is looking increasingly likely.

So how much would Augusto’s arrival cost the Nerazzurri’s coffers?

As Di Marzio reveals, the Italian giants will have to splash a sum between 13 and 15 million euros to seal the deal.

However, Monza won’t collect the entirety of the transfer fee. The report claims that Augusto’s old club Corinthians will earn 40% of the fee.

Last season, Augusto scored six goals and provided five assists in what a thrilling campaign on a personal level.
