Juventus are getting close to wrapping up the signing of ex-Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Bianconeri have the funds ready to sign the Belgian, and the player wants to make the move.

After the dramatic soap opera between Lukaku and Inter last month, the central question surrounding the 30-year-old’s future has been “will he or won’t he” join Juventus?

The Bianconeri have made Lukaku a major target in spite of his previous Inter loyalties.

Juventus coach Max Allegri sees the Belgian as an ideal replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. He feels that Lukaku is a perfect striker for his style of football.

And for his part, the player feels the same way.

The Corriere report that Lukaku is very keen on the idea of playing under Allegri. He wants to be at a club where he can thrive as a key reference point in attack, and feels that he will receive that treatment under the Juventus coach.

Juventus Just About Ready To Sign Romelu Lukaku

The Bianconeri have had to get their finances in order before they could actually sign Lukaku.

The 30-year-old won’t come cheap in terms of either transfer fee or wages.

However, Juventus have made some big sales this summer. The Corriere note that the Turin giants have brought in €67 million from the departures of Denis Zakaria, Arthur, and Dejan Kulusevski.

Now, the Bianconeri will aim to get a player-plus-cash swap deal done with Chelsea involving Vlahovic and Lukaku.

Juventus expect a cash fee of around €30 million from Chelsea in addition to Lukaku coming the other way.

And the player is ready to sign a contract worth €9 million net per season.

According to the Corriere, everything is now in place. A move for Lukaku to the Allianz Stadium that would have seemed shocking and absurd just a few weeks ago is now not far on the horizon.
