Inter Milan have reportedly revived their interest in Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos who is also a transfer target of West Ham United.

At this advanced stage of the summer transfer session, news reports are linking the Nerazzurri with a plethora of defenders.

The Serie A giants are desperate to sign a new centre-back who can make up for Milan Skriniar’s departure. The latter joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last month.

However, Inter directors Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have been unable to secure the services of a reliable defender.

According to Sky Sport via FcInterNews, Mavropanos has now resurged on the scene. The 25-year-old is once a transfer target for the Beneamata.

The Greek is a former Arsenal defender who failed to leave his mark in North London. Nevertheless, he has been proving himself as a solid centre-back during his time at Stuttgart.

Inter Milan Are Once Again Pursuing Stuttgart Defender Konstantinos Mavropanos; But West Ham Could Be Ahead In The Race

The defender joined the Bundesliga club in 2020 initially on loan. He made his switch permanent in 2022, while his contract with the Germans runs until 2025.

Nevertheless, Sky Sports UK insists that Mavropanos is very close to sealing a return to the English capital, this time through the gates of West Ham.

As the source explains, the Hammers couldn’t finalize the transfer of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire. Therefore, they resorted to the Greece international as a fallback option.

So we shall see if Inter will be able to sabotage West Ham’s plans for Mavropanos, or if will it prove to be too little too late.
