Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi says that he’s happy with the summer transfer window his club has had so far.

Speaking to InterTV after yesterday’s 2-0 Serie A win over Monza, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri boss made clear that his club are still working to wrap up the window and that what they’ve managed already has met his expectations.

Inter have had a very busy summer.

The Nerazzurri have said goodbye to a double-digit number of players. It seems inevitable that the number of players who arrive to take their places will also be in double figures.

This amount of upheaval can naturally be difficult for a coach to manage.

Inzaghi is having to bed in new players – young players and veterans alike – in every single position on the pitch.

But yesterday’s performance against Monza suggests that the comings and goings have done nothing to make the squad disjointed.

And for his part, Inzaghi is happy with the squad that he has at his disposal. However, the coach also made no secret of the fact that there’s still more work to do before deadline day.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi Opens Up About Transfer Window

Asked if he’s happy with bringing in Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic as strikers, Inzaghi replied “Absolutely, yes.”

The coach noted that against Monza, “The substitutes did well. Clearly the first four need no introduction, and then Bisseck also played well.”

“Darmian had a bit of a knock, Acerbi is also out with an injury,” the coach noted. “So we had a bit of an injury crisis in defense, clearly we still need another player there.”

“But we did well to keep a good team at bay,” he said of his side’s clean sheet.

And asked whether he’s happy with the transfer window so far, Inzaghi replied “Absolutely, yes.”

“We’ve made a lot of changes,” he continued. “We’ve lost to players in key positions, but the team are working well in training and there’s enthusiasm.”

“We’re still missing a bit, but my club is working on it.”
