Alexis Sanchez is hungry to get to work fighting for the Serie A title and Champions League with Inter Milan this season.

The 34-year-old spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, upon his return to the Nerazzurri.

The last time that Sanchez wore the Inter shirt, he managed to help the Nerazzurri to win the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.

The Chilean score a memorable long-range goal against Roma in the quarterfinals of the former competition. And in the latter, it was Sanchez’s last-gasp winner that gave Simone Inzaghi his first trophy on the Nerazzurri bench.

On the other hand, Sanchez and Inter were unable to win the league title in the 2021-22 season.

Sanchez has just one Scudetto in his trophy cabinet, from the 2020-21 campaign.

And in the Champions League, Sanchez perhaps has “unfinished business” with Inter. The former Arsenal and Manchester United forward got himself sent off right as the Nerazzurri looked to be staging a comeback against Liverpool in the second leg of a round of sixteen tie.

Alexis Sanchez: Hungry For Serie A Title & UCL With Inter Milan

Sanchez said that “Everyone knows that Inter are one of the top teams in Italy.”

“They’re Champions League finalists, you know?”

The Chilean said that “During my career, I’ve always said I want to play for the biggest team, and Inter are right up there. This club has won before, and will again.”

The veteran striker promised “A more mature Alexis. On a personal level, and in terms of how I play with the team.”

“I play the way I always have,” the 34-year-old said. “I want to win as always and improve on a personal level.”

“I want a team where I get along with my teammates well, and we’re all rowing in the same direction.”

Sanchez said that he’s re-joined “An Inter that wants to win, which isn’t an easy thing in football I think.”

“Keeping that winning mentality up for a long time is tough. And I hope that I can reach another Champions League final with my teammates.”

Sanchez said of Inter reaching the Champions League final last season  that “I’ve already given my teammates my congratulations. They did everything right. And I reiterate that.”

“And now hopefully we can get there again, and win some league titles.”

Of the new-look Inter attack this season, Sanchez said that “It’s a good mixture.”

“I already know Lautaro,” he said. “He always scores goals.”

“And then, Arnautovic and Thuram are different kinds of players.”

“I’m more of a player who likes space, quick. The other players are more goalscorers – we have to learn to play together well.”
