Inter Milan are close to wrapping up a deal to sign Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich, with Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah joining Bayern the key.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

Inter do not want to wait much longer to sign Pavard.

The Nerazzurri’s patience is starting to wear thin considering the looming deadline for the summer transfer window.

Moreover, the season is now already in full swing. Inter had hoped to have Pavard at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal for Monday’s Serie A clash with Cagliari – that now looks very unlikely.

However, according to Mediaset, the Nerazzurri should not have to wait much longer at all.

Inter Milan To Sign Benjamin Pavard Imminently – Bayern Munich Move For Trevoh Chalobah Key

The big holdup in Pavard’s move to Inter has always been Bayern’s insistence on signing a replacement first.

The Bavarians have already agreed a deal for the Frenchman with Inter.

However, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel does not want to let Pavard leave without securing an adequate replacement.

And doing so at this late stage of the transfer window is not necessarily an easy ask. The Germans have spent the past few days scanning the market for an appropriate target.

And according to Mediaset, Bayern know exactly who they want to replace Pavard.

Like the Frenchman, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is a versatile defender who can play in a wide defensive role.

And the 23-year-old should not prove too difficult to sign from Chelsea.

Chalobah is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. And the Blues are still looking to offload fringe players to offset some of their lavish spending this summer.

Bayern are now quite far along in the process of trying to sign Chalobah, reports Mediaset.

Therefore, it should not be long sat all before the Bavarians release Pavard to join Inter.
