Alexis Sanchez won’t be in Inter Milan’s squad for their Serie A clash with Cagliari on Monday due to the timing of his transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It’s all official – Sanchez will once again be an Inter player this season.

The Nerazzurri have formally announced the 34-year-old’s return on a free transfer, twelve months after he departed via the same route.

Therefore, Sanchez can now get back to work with his Inter teammates again.

There will be plenty of familiar faces for the Chilean, who last wore the Nerazzurri shirt in the 2021-22 campaign. And then there will be some new players to build chemistry with, considering the turnover in Inter’s squad over the past few transfer windows.

Naturally, Sanchez is getting started right away. He will be part of today’s training session, the Corriere reports.

However, this will not be enough time for Sanchez to have any part to play against Cagliari.

Alexis Sanchez Will Have To Wait – No Part In Inter Vs Cagliari Clash

Inter travel to Sardinia to face Cagliari on Monday.

The Nerazzurri will be aiming to build on the momentum of their opening day win against Monza in their second Serie A match of the season.

Sanchez has joined in time that he’ll watch on as an Inter player. However, the Corriere reports, the Chilean will not be on the bench just yet.

The reason for this is that Sanchez is not quite in condition to play on Monday yet.

The 34-year-old has been without a club since his contract with Marseille ran out at the end of June.

Therefore, Sanchez hasn’t been training with other players for almost two months.

The former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Marseille man has been working in training alone to keep his condition up. However, this is not the same as working with other players.

Therefore, Sanchez will need a little bit of time to get up to speed.

In all likelihood, Sanchez should be Inter’s squad to face Fiorentina next weekend.
