Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries doesn’t hide the fact that the Serie A title is Inter Milan’s goal.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 Serie A win over Cagliari, via FCInterNews, the Dutchman also praised his coach Simone Inzaghi for his motivational style.

Inter are still just two matches into the Serie A season.

That’s 36 to go.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have in truth faced two of the easier matches they’re likely to all season.

But Inter have made a statement by taking six points from six, cruising to victory against both Monza and Cagliari.

Meanwhile, champions Napoli and Inter’s city rivals AC Milan have done likewise. And Juventus aren’t far behind with four points.

There’s a long way to go, but Inter have gotten off to the kind of start they’ll have craved.

Denzel Dumfries Admits Inter Milan Want The Second Star

Inter travelled to Sardinia for their first away match of the Serie A season.

This was Cagliari’s first match of the campaign playing in front of their home fans.

The Rossoblu looked fired up from the get-go, perhaps getting some extra motivation from the vocal urging of their home crowd.

However, Inter put in an assured performance.

It was Dumfries who scored the match’s opening goal. The 27-year-old latched on to the end of an excellent Marcus Thuram pass and slotted the ball into the far corner, through the legs of Cagliari defender Adam Obert.

Speaking after the match, Dumfries said that “Our coach always shows his frustration on the bench.”

“He’s always talking,” the Dutchman said of his coach. “But I’m ready for it. I like the way he motivates us.”

“We try to stay compact, win the ball back high, keep the ball, and then take the attack to the opponent,” Dumfries said.

He also made clear “The Scudetto is our first objective.”

“Last season we had a great run in the Champions League, but this season we want to win the Scudetto and the second star, we know how important it is for our fans.”
