Cagliari striker Leonardo Pavoletti feels that Inter Milan are currently the strongest team in all of Serie A.

Speaking to the official channel of Serie A, via L’Interista, the veteran striker also stated that he’ll be happy to see former Rossoblu midfielder Nicolo Barella on the other side of the pitch in this evening’s Serie A match.

Inter travel to Sardinia to face newly-promoted Cagliari this evening.

The Rossoblu have already proven that they won’t be an easy team to beat in their first season back in the top flight.

Claudio Ranieri’s men secured a hard-fought draw away to Torino in their Serie A opener. And now, playing at home for the first time in the campaign, the Sardinians will feel the support of their fans again.

However, facing Inter will be a different proposition than coming up against the Granata.

The Nerazzurri finished third in the Serie A table last season, and reached the Champions League final.

This will not mean that Cagliari will lack belief that they can get a result this evening. However, 34-year-old striker Pavoletti knows full well that this will be a massive early test of their mettle in Serie A.

Cagliari Striker Leonardo Pavoletti Calls Inter Milan The Strongest Team In Serie A

Striker Pavoletti can boast a good record in his matches against Inter.

“Inter are one of the big names who I’ve scored most against. I’ve scored three goals,” the striker said.

“Their colours just seems to suit me well,” he joked.

“Also, we’ll come up against an old friend in Nicolo Barella. It’s always nice to see someone we’ve shared so many battles with again,” Pavoletti noted.

“This will be our first match against a big team back in Serie A, and we want to get the most out of it.”

Pavoletti left no doubt, saying that “I believe that Inter are the strongest team in the league.”
