Inter Milan are optimistic about getting a deal done to sign defender Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri are calm and not worrying as they await the final go-ahead on the transfer from the Bavarians.

The transfer saga between Inter, Bayern, and Pavard has dragged on for several weeks now.

But behind the scenes, Di Marzio reports, the Inter directors remain confident.

The Nerazzurri believe that Bayern do not want to see the deal fall through. The two clubs agreed on a fee for the 27-year-old’s whose contract runs out next summer, over a week ago.

And regardless of Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel’s seemingly negative stance, Inter feel that Bayern do not want to miss out on the fee that they agreed to sell Pavard.

The big holdup in the deal has always been Bayern’s search for a suitable replacement for the Frenchman.

Inter Milan Calm, Confident & Optimistic About Benjamin Pavard

Naturally, Inter’s patience is now threatening to wear thin.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri have given Bayern an informal but clear deadline – 15.00 CET this afternoon according to reports.

And according to Di Marzio, Inter are not worrying. They fully believe that the green light from Bayern will arrive on the transfer.

Given that Inter have an agreement with Bayern on the fee in hand, as well as personal terms worked out with Pavard, once that green light arrives then the Nerazzurri can seal the deal for Pavard quickly.

Inter are expecting Bayern to give the go-ahead and send all the necessary documents over this afternoon.

Then, all that will be left is for Inter to schedule the Frenchman’s medicals.

Pavard should become an Inter player well before the summer transfer window closes.
