Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be able to overcome all injury concerns ahead of the Fiorentina clash, but the updates on Francesco Acerbi are less positive.

The Armenian has thus far been able to ward off competition from newcomer Davide Frattesi and maintain a starting berth.

He started the first two matches of the Serie A season alongside Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella. The Nerazzurri secured 2-0 wins over Monza and Cagliari.

But during last Monday’s contest in Sardinia, Mkhitaryan sustained an injury in the final minutes of the match.

Nevertheless, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi downplayed the incident, describing it as “just a knock”.

Further confirmation has arrived from Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews) who expect the former Man United star to shake off all injury concerns.

The source believes that the 34-year-old should be able to take the pitch this weekend. The Beneamata will host Fiorentina at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium this Sunday.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Should Be Fit Enough To Start For Inter Milan Against Fiorentina, But Francesco Acerbi Is Unlikely To Feature

On the contrary, the report is less optimistic about Acerbi. The defender suffered a muscular injury during the last part of the pre-season preparations.

The 35-year-old is yet to take the field in an official match this season. The Roman newspaper claims that the Italy international is still unlikely to feature this weekend.

The former Lazio man was part of the group in recent training sessions. But at this point, he might at best prove fit enough for a spot on the bench.
